Jim Main is a founding partner of Main Amundson and Associates, Jim is a licensed certified public accountant and a certified construction industry financial professional.
Jim concentrates his efforts primarily on the firm’s construction/architecture and real estate development practice. Since this accounting is unique and every job is different this requires a unique understanding of the construction industry. These clients must be able to estimate what the costs of contracts and developments will be, sometimes without knowing all the variables. Our clients receive the knowledge and hands on expertise to make their accounting system work for them.
After growing up in Las Vegas, Jim graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He is a member of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the AICPA Tax Division and Small Business Subcommittees. Jim is a Board Member and past president of the Construction Industry CPAs/Consultants Association, a national organization of CPA firms which concentrate in construction. Jim is also an active member and past president of the Rotary Club of Las Vegas – Fremont and as well as a board member and past chapter president of Construction Financial Management Association.
John is one of the founding partners of Main Amundson. While his career began in the Los Angeles office of Deloitte & Touche in 1980, his roots in the Las Vegas area date back to 1964, when his family moved to a very small Las Vegas. And it was then that he first met his future partner – Jim Main, in elementary school!
John left Deloitte as a Senior Tax Manager in 1991. At that time, he was recognized as one of that firms Estate and Trust Specialists. Today, he still works extensively in that area, as well as having clients that are located literally all over the United States. These high net worth individuals and their related entities cover partnerships, LLCs, trusts, S corporations, and regular (C) corporations.
He now works with many of the top Las Vegas area attorneys in the estate and trust area. His practice includes real estate development and construction firms, law firms, medical practices, and other professional practices.
John received a Masters In Business Taxation from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Tax Section of the AICPA.
Penelope is one of the partners at Main Amundson and Associates. She is experienced in financial analysis, financial statement preparation, audits, and tax services at the individual, trusts, partnership, and corporate levels. Penelope is a licensed certified public accountant and a certified construction industry financial professional.
Penelope received her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accountancy from Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She frequently attends the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) events and the annual Construction Industry CPAs/Consultants Association (CICPAC) conference to enrich her knowledge from some of the industry’s finest professionals.
Penelope has been happily married to James Tigue for over 18 years. They have one son, Chase, and one daughter, Emily. Her family moved to Las Vegas in 2006 and now calls Las Vegas home.
Aaron joined Main Amundson in 2012. Prior to that, he worked for a Big 4 accounting firm, an estate planning law firm, and a trust company. Aaron holds licenses as a CPA (California), attorney (Nevada and California), CFA, and a CFP®.
He is involved with tax return preparation including partnerships, LLCs, S corporations, and estate and trust returns. He also is involved with tax planning, estate planning, litigation support, auditing, and financial statement preparation.
Aaron has a Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, and economics from University of Nevada, Reno and his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.
Dan joined the firm in 2004 after moving from Kansas City, MO. Dan’s two decades of Tax Office experience makes him well suited to work with the firm on individual taxation concerns.
He works closely with the professional staff to complete personal tax returns, personal financial statements, entity financial statements, and property management concerns.
Dan is positioned for growth in the firm by working with the professional staff and continuing educational goals. Dan completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He also has interests in financial markets.
Danielle began her professional career with Main Amundson back in 2001. She has responsibility for the firm’s accounting and client bookkeeping services, and financial statement presentations. Her clients include a variety of industries, including real estate developers, law firms, and medical practices. She is also responsible for all of the employee benefit plan audits that the firm does.
Having grown up with the firm, she now oversees the firms Peer Review program. Every three years the firm is reviewed by an unrelated CPA firm for quality control issues.This is required as part of membership in the AICPAs practice of monitoring CPA firm's to insure continued quality control. Main Amundson is proud, through the efforts of Danielle and the rest of the staff, to have received excellent reviews on each occurrence.
Dani graduated with an Accounting Degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a proud supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, working extensively with them for the past ten years.
